Awesome Microsoft Teams Tips and Tricks You Should Know

Microsoft Teams is an excellent platform for collaboration. However, with so many features and options available, it can be challenging to know where to start.

This tutorial from Switch Connect will show you some tips and tricks to help you get the most out of Microsoft Teams. Read on!

1. Take advantage of its flexibility.

One of the remarkable things about Microsoft Teams is that it offers a lot of flexibility when it comes to how you use it. For example, you can use it for audio and video conferencing, instant messaging, or even file sharing. It is up to you how you want to use Microsoft Teams, and there is no wrong way to do it.

2. Utilise the “Urgent” feature when sending a high-priority message.

Notably, you can send urgent notifications to Microsoft Teams. If you need an urgent reply, click the exclamation point below the message field before pressing send. For the next 20 minutes, or until it is read, the recipient will receive notifications every two minutes.

3. Make use of the “Record” and “Transcribe Meetings” buttons.

Another fantastic feature of Microsoft Teams is its ability to record and transcribe meetings. Maintaining a recording of virtual meetings for subsequent study can be extremely beneficial. Once you begin recording a meeting from the meeting control panel, a copy of the meeting is automatically saved to Microsoft Stream for secure access by all attendees. Additionally, you can generate a meeting transcript using Stream’s inherent features.

4. Enjoy the benefits of hashtags.

Another useful trick for using Microsoft teams is learning how to use hashtags. Hashtags are a fantastic way to organise your thoughts and keep track of valuable information. To use a hashtag, type the “#” symbol followed by the keyword or phrase you want to tag. For example, if you wanted to tag a meeting as “important,” you would type “#important” in the chatbot.

5. Learn the “Mention” feature.

Another great tip for Microsoft Teams is learning how to @mention others. This is the best way to get someone’s attention or let them know that you need their help with something. To mention someone, simply type the “@” symbol followed by their name. For example, if you wanted to mention your teammate John, you would type “@John” in the chatbox.

6. Familiarise yourself with the “Share screen” button.

Moreover, Microsoft Teams also allows you to share your screen with others. This is a wonderful way to collaborate on projects or give presentations. To share your screen, click on the “Share” button in the top right corner of the screen. Aside from this, you can also click on the “More Options” button to find more sharing options.

7. Use the search function.

One last tip to get the most out of Microsoft Teams is to use the search function. This is an effective way to find old conversations or files that you may need. To use the search function, click on the “Search” option in the top right corner of the screen. From there, you can type in keywords or phrases to help you find what you are looking for.
